Happy New Year

I do desire we may be better strangers.

Happy New Year, Wolves!
I know, doesn’t that seem strange reading those words so late in January? But I’m sure you’ve noticed a considerable amount of silent treatment on my end the last few months. Sometimes, life has a funny way of creeping up and consuming you. Even in my absence I didn’t stop thinking of you, and I’ve been writing. I’m constantly writing, it’s just not what I always want to write. I’m looking at you, Uni assignments. However, my intentions and goals for this year are pretty humongous – both personal and professional. So, why am I quoting Shakespeare today? Well, it’s pretty simple. I’m well overdue a new Vlog – that’s a video blog btw, you know, in case you’re not down with the kids. (I can hear my younger self tutting and shaking her head in disapproval at that. When did I get old? Scratch that question, I don’t think I’d like the answer, it’ll probably have something to do with grey hairs. Yes, I have them. A LOT OF THEM. Gone are the days of snipping one or two. Anyway, I’ve digressed…)

The last time I created a video I’d only just started out in this Author ShowBiz back in 2014. Everything was all new back then! If you haven’t seen it, please cringe along with me here. But now, I’m ready to dive back into the swing of things, and that means keeping in touch with you about words I’m finally going to publish this year. Want to know more? Then ask me. That’s right. I want to know what you want to know from me – sorry, this isn’t supposed to be some riddle you have to solve before you get the prize. Basically, I’m going to answer all your questions in a video. Whether they’re about my books, what I’m working on, what I’m currently doing with my weird life or even who my favourite superhero is. Actually, no, please don’t ask me that. I don’t have an answer! What I’m suggesting is you have carte blanche. Go crazy! All you have to do is comment below with your question. And what’s more, one lucky inquisitor will win a mystery prize. Game on?

Let’s do this!

October – Paranormal Takeover

It’s officially one of my two favourite months of the year – the second being December. I’m not sure why, but every year when October comes around I get really excited. Maybe it’s the longer, colder evenings, the mass amounts of hot chocolate I consume or perhaps that my birthday happens to fall towards the end of the month. Whatever the cause, I know I get ridiculously happy. And I want to share that with you by tickling your supernatural senses. If you love Paranormal Romance as much as I do, you’ll want to check out this phenomenal giveaway hosted by Pure Textuality PR and Paranormal And Urban Fantasy Book Bargains. There are FOUR Kindle Fires up for grabs PLUS lots more! Head to the rafflecopter link to find out how to enter. Not only could you win a fantastic prize, you might also find a new favourite author. What have you got to lose?

A little while ago I mentioned about putting the Nature’s Destiny series into paperback. For the first time you can officially hold a physical copy of each novel. And though I’m probably biased, I think my cover designer did an excellent job. They’re so beautiful! Check them out down below if you don’t believe me 😉 If you fancy getting your hands on one, head over to Createspace or Amazon.

As for me, I’m heading into the writing cave. I’ve got a bunch of Nature’s Destiny short stories to complete before I’m buried under my Master’s Degree.
Have a great week, Wolves!

Warrior’s Duty is LIVE!

Title: Warrior’s Duty

Series: Nature’s Destiny #4
Author: Justine Winter
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Release Date: February 17, 2016
Death. Destruction. Demons.
War was officially declared.

Blade’s rebirth into the world became something we truly weren’t prepared for. And I felt guilty. Blaming myself for not getting to Lara in time.

She was gone. Nature’s Destiny was grieving.

In the midst of our woes the battle was brewing. Incubi kept coming. Hell beasts were slaying. And the demon master was another step closer to winning.

With an army of supernatural beings in my arsenal I was optimistic that we were enough. We had the prophecy and my fortitudo on our side.

Whatever happened there was one thing I knew for certain.

The end had come.

He yanked me by my chains, my wrists bled with the cold, silver metal cutting into my skin. My bare feet dragged along the stony ground, covered with scrapes from the uneven surface. He pulled me to follow like a dog on a leash, tugging my manacles harder than was necessary.

I kept quiet despite wanting to scream the dark, dank dungeon down. He always found pleasure in my pain, so I’d learnt to conceal it. My lips were incredibly tender from biting into them to stifle my groans.

“Why hasn’t she come yet?” The woman yelled the second I entered her presence. She never came further than that, didn’t want to dirty her precious clothes. I was always to be brought to her.

“She’s deciding,” I answered.

“No, she’s clearly made her choice. You screwed this up for us!” The woman’s hand lashed out, marking my face as her slap connected with my cheek.

“I didn’t! I did everything you asked of me.” I was desperate for her to loosen my binds, to let me out of the dreary cell for good. There was no chance I was going to risk exposing myself. My freedom was all I wanted, what I hoped for during  the long hours of torture and loneliness.

“We won’t survive without them!” The woman paced, biting her perfectly manicured nails. “Take her back to her cell,” she  ordered my torturer. “I’ll have to force the pretty wolf’s hand into helping us.”

“NO!” I yelled, using all my strength to fend off my chain-holder. “No, don’t do this to me!”

I’ve always lived a life based on my imagination, from hopeless dreams of romance to concocting alternate realities involving supernaturals. I’m completely fascinated with anything hero-related, and often speculate which superpower I’d possess. I haven’t settled on one yet.

I was born in England, and currently reside in Wales, UK. I love to write, and most days you’ll find me happily tapping away at the computer whilst in my pyjama-clad bubble. I also spend my time reading, and if that isn’t enough I’m often in the kitchen baking up a treat.

The beast taunted me, stalked me like I was its prey. Its coal-like skin, straight from the mouth of hell, sizzled brightly with streaks of orange. The lava of its home. I never stood a chance in this war, I was one wolf against an army of demons; they kept me distracted long enough to ensure there was nothing I could do to jeopardise their hostile takeover. I soon learned that distraction was their greatest tactic, their only worthwhile weapon. But still, there were little acts of heroism I could partake in; chained and bound in a cage granted me little freedom. I was the hell beasts’ toy, to scratch, to bite, to chase when dull moments had them bored. Compared to my torment, I was sure death would be a gift as inviting as a freshly picked bouquet of flowers. I no longer wanted to endure such heinous, criminal, apocalyptic affairs. I wished for death, and the devil laughed in my face.

Brain Wanted; Words Needed

How  do  you  operate  when  you’ve  left  your  brain  behind?
Behind  where?  Good  question.

That  is  today’s  conundrum  because  somehow  I’ve  managed  to  completely  overlook  that  a  year  ago  to  the  day  I  released  Sapphire’s  Divinity.  I’ve  forgotten  another  important  anniversary  in  my  book-filled  world.  So  it’s  obvious  that  I  have  no  functioning  brain  to  speak  of,  and  therefore  no  fun  and  giveaways  planned.  Boo.

But  I  do  have  something  to  offer  as  a  compromise.  A  teaser  from  book  4  of  the  Nature’s  Destiny  series.  This  is  probably  the  earliest  in  my  process  I’ve  ever  released  a  teaser –  I’m  literally  only  in  the  beginning  of  writing  this  beauty,  but  still  aiming  to  release  by  the  end  of  the  year.  Hang  tight,  my  werewolf-loving  friends.

Without  further  ado,  I  give  you  the  teaser  and  title  below.

Enjoy!

I was dying.

Every minute I wasted without a mate, my mind became more volatile. I was unbalanced, stronger than I was capable of handling alone.

Supposedly, I was destined for greatness, but apparently I had to overcome another task first.

A mating.

Riley was my one true love. I was sure. However, that didn’t necessarily mean I was his. Complications, it seemed, were becoming my forte.

Despite my personal problems, the demons emerged, offering little hope and even less mercy. With my mind preoccupied, I wasn’t ready for the attack heading our way.

The pack needed me now more than ever, but the demons were cunning, thwarting my plans and upping the stakes each time.

I was letting them down. We weren’t ready. I wasn’t ready.

Darkness descended on Nature’s Destiny, and sadness was sure to come.

War had begun.

Seven 11 Blog Hop

Seven 11 blog hop

Every  year  this  day  comes  around  too  fast.  I’ll  switch  on  the  tv  to  find  documentary  upon  documentary  re-living  the  tragic  events  of  13  years  ago,  and  once  again  I’ll  realise  we’re  nearing  another  anniversary.  I  was  only  10  at  the  time,  and  yet  I  still  remember  that  day  even  though  I  had  absolutely  no  idea  what  was  going  on.  While  I’m  busy  writing  today,  creating  fake  tragedies  that  supernatural  creatures  can  stop,  I’ll  be  taking  a  moment’s  silence  to  remember  the  many  that  lost  their  lives,  including  the  brave  men  and  women  that  sacrificed  theirs  to  save  another.  I  only  wish  there’d  been  a  Riley  and  Luna  to  save  them.

So,  speaking  of  Riley  and  Luna,  I  bet  you’re  wondering  what  I’m  going  to  share  with  you  for  this  months  blog  hop.  With  Nature’s  Destiny  published,  and  Sapphire’s  Divinity  published  too,  I  figured  I’d  give  you  something  hot  off  the  press.  I’m  going  to  share  the  very  first  snippet  of  what’s  to  come  from  book  3  which  does  have  a  title.  This  is  the  earliest  I’ve  ever  worked  out  a  title  for  a  book,  and  you  know  what?  I  think  I’m  going  to  share  that  today,  too.  Exciting?  Woohoo!!

Okay,  drum  roll,  please . . .

The  third  book  in  the  Nature’s  Destiny  series  is  called . . .

Guardians  Dynasty

And  here’s  this  months  7-line  teaser  which  I  only  wrote  on  Tuesday;  it’s  that  new!

*Unedited,  first  draft  only.  Content   subject  to  change.*

“The  story  of  the  Blood  Moon,  however,  is  supposedly  the  symbol  of  a  new  realm  on  Earth,   a  new  way  of  living  controlled  by  the  demons’  beasts.”

“Hell  beasts,”  Shane  clarified.  “They  tear  the  world  apart  until  fear  and  evil  is  all  that’s  left  within  the  humans.  No  hope.  No  happiness.  No  laughter.”

“And  the  demons  join  our  world  indefinitely,”  Riley  finished.

If  you  enjoyed  that  then  you  might  want  to  check  out  this  giveaway  I  have  going  on  right  now.  Every  Alpha  needs  a  Beta.  Just  like  Riley  depends  on  Nick  and  Shane,  I’m  offering  the  chance  for  two  lucky  readers  to  become  Beta’s  for  the  next  book  in  the  series.  What  does  that  mean?  It  means  YOU  get  to  read  the  next  story  before  anyone  else  AND  tell  me  what  you  think!  Sound  like  fun?  It  should  be!  Enter  here.  Good  Luck!

Also,  there’s  an  amazing  giveaway  going  with  Janet  Wallace (creator  of  UtopYACon) and  author S.M. Boyce  who’ve  teamed  up  to  offer  2  general  admission  tickets  to  2015’s  UtopYACon! How  awesome  is  that? If  you  want  to  know  more,  I  suggest  you  check  out  S.M Boyce’s  post  here,  and  then  you  can  enter  the  giveaway  here.  Trust  me,  this  is  a  giveaway  you  don’t  want  to  miss.

Every  month  several  other  incredibly  talented  authors  post  their  7-line  teaser,  too.  So  make  sure  you  check  out  the  list  below  to  see  what  they  have  to  offer  this  week.  Have  a  great  weekend!
